OUR COMMITMENT

What We Do

At the Wise Women Foundation, we dedicate ourselves to the empowerment and advancement of women of color. Through tailored workshops and mentorship initiatives, we strive to break barriers and foster growth, creating a network that supports and promotes the leadership of women of color.

Our team, fueled by passion and dedication, works tirelessly across diverse locations - community centers, educational institutions, online platforms, and partner organizations' facilities - ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.

Committed to our cause, a significant portion of our time and resources is directed towards creating educational materials, organizing events, and implementing programs that cater specifically to the needs of women of color. We are fueled by the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations who share our vision, enabling us to sustain and expand our impactful activities.

Through our efforts, we aim not just to empower individuals but to catalyze a societal shift towards equality, diversity, and inclusive leadership, ultimately contributing to the holistic well-being of women of color and the communities they enrich.

Leah Wise

FOUNDER

Leah Wise was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas. She graduated from Harlingen High School in 2008, and attended The University of Texas at Austin where she graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Communication and a concentration in women's and gender studies. Leah obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2016.

Leah opened her own law practice in 2016 and became the first Latina-owned law firm in South Texas dedicated 100% to plaintiff personal injury representation. While in business and being born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Leah saw how many women of color were being underrepresented.

All this, along with Leah's beliefs and strong values led her to create Wise Women Foundation, whose mission is to support women of color. Leah’s passion is empowering Latinas. In 2022, Leah founded the Leah Wise Latina Student Hardship Fund at St. Mary’s University School of Law in which she pledged $50,000.00 to the law school to help Latina Law Students experiencing financial hardship.

Leah enjoys spending time with her loved ones and advocating for women’s empowerment all over the nation.
